This free exhibition presents the treasured collection of Shangpa Rinpoche, abbot of the Centre, bringing together sacred relics, thangkas, photography, and fine art in a single exhibition.
Many of the relics are centuries old and have never been available for public viewing, making this a truly exceptional opportunity that many visitors may experience only once in their lifetime.
Highlights of the exhibition include:
- More than 40 sacred Buddhist relics
- More than 40 thangkas and sacred artworks
- More than 30 photographic works
- Collaborative artworks by renowned artist Mr. Lin Lu Zai
- Revered Buddhist relics from Thalagala Mangalarama Maha Viharaya, Sri Lanka, shared by Venerable Tallagala Sumanarathanayake Thero

Founded in 1981 by His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa, the Karma Kagyud Buddhist Centre was established with the aim of bringing to fruition the invaluable teachings of Buddha in Singapore. Over the years, the Centre has significantly impacted individuals through diverse programs such as classes, meditation sessions, teachings, practices, and more.
The term "Kagyud" holds profound significance, with "Ka" referring to oral transmission—the unparalleled words of Buddha or teachings personally conveyed by Buddha. "Gyud" signifies the unbroken transmitted lineage. The Kagyud lineage traces its origin directly to Buddha Vajradhara (Dorje Chang), inseparable from Buddha Shakyamuni. This lineage is a precious Dharma path that guides practitioners toward the attainment of Buddhahood.
