SMU Dhamma Circle aspires to be a community for students to learn and live life through the practice of mindfulness, compassion, and wisdom. As a non-sectarian Buddhist society, we welcome every student to join us in our Dhamma sharing sessions and activities. SMU Alumni and Members of the Public are welcomed to join our activities as well!
Activities
- Weekly Dhamma Sharing Sessions every Thursday evening, 7:30PM - 9:00PM, during the semester. SMU carry out a short meditation before the start of each session.
- Sessions are normally held at School Of Economics / School Of Social Sciences Classroom

Do I need audition to get into the club?
No, there is no membership fee or auditions to join SMUDC. As we aim to be a place for everyone to learn and discuss the teachings of the Buddha, everyone is welcome and free to attend our sessions and activities!
What’s the commitment level?
There is no minimum commitment required to attend weekly sessions and events. You’re welcome to join us whenever you are free!
Do I have to be a Buddhist or have knowledge of Buddhism to attend the sessions?
Nope! Everyone can attend our sessions! From exchange students to Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike, we welcome anyone who’s interested in Buddhism to attend and participate in our weekly discussions.
