About the Lecture

This four-session series offers a comparative study of how modern Buddhist traditions engage with society and redefine spiritual practice in the contemporary world.

Learn how:
• Engaged Buddhism promotes social action rooted in Buddhist ethics and compassion.
• Humanistic Buddhism emphasizes mindfulness and altruism in everyday life.
• Both movements continue to shape global Buddhist thought and community practice today.

Through these discussions, Prof. Xue Yu will explore the moral, philosophical, and practical implications of living a Buddhist life in the modern world — inspiring reflection on how Buddhism can transform both self and society.

All are welcome — no background required.
