Episode 03. The Mind’s Tendency to Spread Conflict: What is Prapañca
Prapañca (Pali: papañca; Chinese: 妄想) is an important concept in the Buddhist understanding of how conflict arises at the individual and collective level. We will explore texts that explain prapañca and describe how to cut through clinging to it, for our benefit and the benefit of the world.
We will review texts from several traditions to understand this term, it’s connection with other terms such as samjna and sanskara, and how we work with it in our meditation practice.
