Hai Inn Temple
About this place
Hai Inn Temple traces its origins from modest mud huts to its present grandeur. The pivotal role played by Mr. Tan Fang Swee, a prominent pioneer businessman, in donating the land, and the unwavering commitment of Mrs. Tan, Madam Yeo Tong Ho, in fundraising, marked the commencement of the majestic Hai Inn building. When the Temple was built around 1928, it was a place solely for female laities and devotees to learn and practice dharma. Today, it also includes the Hai Inn Temple Buddhism College, offering dharma classes for adults, youth and children.
